How much is gas at the Flying J truck stop in Gulfport MS?

Sorry, southern Mississippi. The Flying J Travel Center cheap gas prices shown on a popular app are not a steal or a bargain – it’s just incorrect.

GasBuddy, an app that allows drivers to update fuel prices at gas stations in real time, has the Gulfport Truck Stop Regular Unleaded listed for a spot price of $3.05 on Tuesday.

The price was uploaded by a user named lehais on Monday, according to GasBuddy. The same user listed the premium spot price at $3.73 per gallon.

A Flying J gas station attendant confirmed to the Sun Herald that spot prices are incorrect on the GasBuddy app and the company is working on a fix.

Regular unleaded fuel at the Canal Road Exit Travel Center on Interstate 10 is $4.19 per gallon. This is one of the most expensive places for gasoline on the coast.

One of the other most expensive gas stations in southern Mississippi is Love’s Truck Stop about 3 miles west on I-10. Fuel there was $3.97 on Monday.

Fuel costs are rising in Mississippi and the rest of the United States and are breaking records. Experts believe prices will rise further in the coming days as tensions escalate with Russia over the invasion of Ukraine.

President Joe Biden announced a ban on Russian oil imports on Tuesday.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Mississippi was $3.86, up 60 cents from last week, according to AAA data.
