Wichita’s newest food truck fleet opens to the public today March 1st. The truck stop is the brainchild of food truck owner Willie Finley of Willie’s Wings.
It is located at 6315 E. Kellogg Dr., on the southwest corner of Kellogg and Woodlawn and accessible from Kellogg Dr as you head east.
The Truck Stop will be the largest food truck fleet of its kind in Wichita and will accommodate at least 13 food trucks with the possibility of more. Another key difference is that the food truck fleet will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Finley’s goal is to have consistency in the park. Diners will know what to expect each week (and weekend) as food trucks will be listed for the entire week or weekend. The idea is that food truck owners can register and reserve their spots in the park and gain access to power ports depending on the package they purchase.
For the month of March, Finley is waiving the monthly fee to allow truck owners to try out the fleet. Interested owners are encouraged to call 316-730-5659.
For opening day, five food trucks have signed up to be part of The Truck Stop‘s debut, which is expected to coincide with a spell of good weather.
people can follow The truck stop on Facebook to see which trucks will be at the food truck park each week.
I wish them the best and hope to check them out this week, so stay tuned for our first look at the new food truck fleet in the coming days.
