Authorities in Oregon are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday at a truck stop near Aurora.
At 6:15 a.m. on April 25, the deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) were called to Flying J outside Aurora to a report of a wanted person spotted at the scene.
When police arrived, the suspect was barricaded inside a vehicle at the truck stop.
The Marion County Interagency SWAT Team was called in to assist.
According to MCSO, “During the incident, an officer fired. A law enforcement officer was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment, his condition is not available at this time.
The suspect was also injured in the incident. Emergency medical assistance was provided to the scene, but the suspect did not survive.
The Marion County District Attorney’s Office and Oregon State Police are investigating the shooting.
