Alcido Jasper Barmore and Ryan Morris Fried are facing charges in connection with the November homicide of Patrick Ballew at the Pilot Truck Stop.
Authorities have made several arrests in the murder of a man at a local truck stop last month.
The incident happened Nov. 12 when deputies responded to the Pilot Truck Stop, located at 1645 S. Highway 29 near exit 41.
Witnesses reported seeing two men arguing in the parking lot before one of the men was repeatedly shot by the other, and the victim broke into the store before collapsing to the ground, authorities said.
The gunshot victim, identified as Patrick Ballew, later succumbed to his injuries at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Witnesses reported seeing a white pickup truck with “Assured Conveyance” written on the side fleeing the parking lot and heading north on Highway 29 towards the freeway.
The van was abandoned and located at a residence on Yeager Road. Inside the van, authorities reportedly found approximately 300 pounds of suspected marijuana and more than 20,000 cartridges of suspected THC.
On December 2, authorities arrested Alcido Jasper Barmore, 26, for murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit murder.
Investigators made a second arrest Dec. 17, charging 39-year-old Ryan Morris Fried with conspiracy to commit a felony and trafficking marijuana.
Warrants have been issued for other suspects and the investigation is continuing.
