Arnprior truck stop owner concerned over lack of staff to handle incoming convoy

“One of the things that is important for us is that we have 50 to 60 trucks that use [us] every night, and we can’t turn them down for a week or maybe longer,” Tom Orr told CityNews’ The Sam Laprade Show.

The owner of Arnprior’s Antrim Truck Shop has many concerns as the “liberty” trucking convoy approaches, due to reach Ottawa on Saturday January 29th.

“It’s put a lot of pressure on our team because we’re understaffed now, and we’re not very busy and trying to figure out how we’re going to handle this,” Orr said.

The goal, he says, is to try to keep the business operating and accommodate as many truckers as possible, while following public health guidelines.
